About the workshop facilitator: Doreen Jachmann
Doreen has worked for a commercial worm farmer and runs a self-sufficient homestead, Bloomfield’s Farm in Jimboomba. Together with her partner she documents the property transformation from a blank canvas to a sustainable food forest.
They are food waste recyclers and, on average, save 250kg from going to landfill each week. They use different composting methods to convert the food waste to beautiful rich soil, without the aid of machinery.
Doreen has a Bachelor of Horticulture and has worked in different climate zones around the world. She also has a Certificate 4 in Environmental Monitoring specialising in soil and water testing and a Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment and has completed several permaculture design courses.
